As the sun sets, a pulsating bag of flesh with tentacles dangling beneath drifts down from orbit. From within, Chris Ham, the Lord of Blades, emerges and walks over to the local gossip. "What's the latest news? I heard the planet fell to a myth in under 24 hours and this port is the safest place left on the dirtball."
"You have good sources. The 'myth' goes by the name of Draak and has an army of dragons, trolls, goblins, orcs, skeletons, zombies, giant insects and who knows what else. My advice would be to quarantine the planet, but Draak doesn't let anyone or anything leave unless it's part of his nightmarish army. Come to think of it though, you'd be a good fit," the gossip replies.
"I doubt Draak can stop thoughts from leaving. I think I'll seek him out for a face to face conversation though," Chris comments before walking towards the road out of the spaceport.

Abyss lurks completely hidden listening to the conversation. "I think we should follow..." She near inaudibly whispers to her pets.
Aries keeps his voice very low too. "Why are we even here?"
"Because this planet is fast reminding me of the nightmare realm, and I would like to meet the one responsible. I might be able to give any information I gather to the wraith king."
"They're still keeping out of this for now aren't they?"
"Yes, and the wraithlings grow stronger because of that. It might actually be his plan you know to rise up and reclaim this world for the wraiths..." She pauses as the man she was watching moves to leave, she moves between here and the dreamworld quickly catching up. Keeping herself and her pets hidden she hangs back watching in case he should run into trouble not that he looked as though he'd need much assistance... Abyss was quickly finding that one of the best things about being a nightmare lord in this monster infested place is that most of them leave you alone, well the weak ones anyway...

The air fills with the sound of merchants advertising their wares as the Lord of Blades approaches the edge of the spaceport. Feeling uneasy about something, Chris walks up to a man standing beside a display of spell books, potions, and jewelry. "I'll take one Food book and one book each of Type H Magic Door and Type S Magic Door," he says as he pulls a flawless mineral crystal out of a hidden sack while keeping a metaphorical eye on his surroundings. Thanks to his psionic senses, he detects three lurkers with no obvious hostile intent and a large number of hidden lifeforms with more insidious intent.
"That Focusing Crystal looks far more valuable than the books you intend to purchase from me. Perhaps I can interest you in a 19% Necklace of Warding to go with the books," the merchant replies while grabbing the requested books and the necklace. Grinning slightly at the extra merchandise he received for a simple five pound crystal, Chris accepts the books and slips the necklace on just as the illusion concealing five Rat Men drops and a swarm of rats emerge from the sewers. As the Rat Men and rats begin to attack everything in sight, the Lord of Blades slips both Magic Door books into his hidden sack and begins to glow with a lavender aura while casually opening the Food spell book to begin studying. After the first sentence, psionic lightning spiders through the air and across the ground in a 15 yard radius around him with devastating results to the hostile lifeforms and a fair amount of collateral damage.

Out of nowhere Aries appears in front of the destructive stranger. "Kinda overkill for a bunch of rats don't you think?"
Still hidden Abyss facepalms and looks down at her spider pet who just stares blankly. "So much for staying hidden..."
The spider squeals in response and true to his name skitters across the ground stopping next to the dragon.
Abyss now forced to step out casually leans on a staff that's roughly the same height as her. Now in the open her intimidating aura is felt, not as strong as in the dreamworld but still enough to send a shiver down the spine of many of the beings present. "Sorry a stealth approach is usually my best, but that won't work at all with these two." She gestures loosely with her staff at her pets. "I couldn't help overhearing, you're looking for the one responsible for this world's sudden turn? I wouldn't mind finding them myself, if you don't mind the company."
((Exchanging the sword for a staff on her profile might also add in the bit about the aura too...))

"I don't have an antidote handy and I needed to take out the rats and their handlers quickly before they could poison anyone," the Lord of Blades comments while continuing to study the 'Food' spell book. Suddenly the atmosphere darkens as a Reaper appears.
"Master Draak will be most annoyed with you. Hand over your valuables and you may be allowed to live another day," the Reaper says as it holds out it's bony hand. Not bothering to close his book, Chris raises one clawed hand and pierces the Reaper's heart with a blade of pure Psionic energy. "I will return to take your soul to Hell before another day passes," the Reaper says as it explodes into dust.

"Reasonable enough." The dragon says. Abyss takes his lack of a comment in response to her query that she was indeed correct and that he wouldn't care if she did follow him. She and her pets watch in silence as the Reaper appears and her jaw drops as he is quickly destroyed. "He's got the Reaper working for him?!" Abyss slumps leaning heavily on her staff which strangely doesn't even slightly move with the sudden extra weight applied. "I actually feel bad for that poor reaper, reduced to an enforcer and apparently weakened to the point where a mortal like yourself can easily repel him... Just out of respect for the Reaper I have to free this planet..." Her last sentence was more to assure herself of her path, but hopefully it would also serve to show that her intentions are not to join the conqueror of the planet but to aid in removing him from power. "Oh I didn't introduce myself, my name is Abyss."

"I actually scanned his mind before he exploded. He was a minor Reaper with several Reapers above him in rank. Unfortunately, all of them serve Draak alongside their traditional master. Keep an eye out for any hostiles that have slipped into the spaceport while you stock up on supplies. I'll browse the shops and maybe call down a few troops from my ship. My troops call me Lord of Blades, but you can call me Chris," the Lord of Blades comments to Abyss as he finishes studying the Food book and swaps it for the Type H Magic Door book.

"Either way Chris, the Reaper is in nature neutral and should not have a master and even the lower reapers should be harder than that to defeat, or perhaps they underestimated you and sent one reserved for decrepitly old mortals? Anyway, you said something about supplies and hostiles?" It all suddenly clicks in her head. "Ah! I don't need supplies I'll just skip ahead to having these two hunt for any other hostile creatures."Abyss loosely gestures to the pets who dart off in different directions hunting for more rats or other nasty creatures. Meanwhile she looks over some of the books one of the vendors has out for sale.

"A little bit of both probably. Members of the Zerg Swarm are not your typical mortal and the Reaper I destroyed for now was actually the lowest ranking type suited only for killing insects. Our first stop should probably be the small towns of the surrounding plains if we want to find the man who reduced Death to a servant," the Lord of Blades comments while using the Hive mind to call down four Overlords worth of Zerglings and an equal number of Drones for building battle camps in the wilderness created by Draak's rise to power. Despite the distractions, he doesn't stop studying his book and at this rate would likely finish reading all three of his new spellbooks.

None of the books for sale grab her attention. "Well I'm ready when you are Chris." She leans on her staff casually. Aries happily chews on the tail of one of the dead rats apparently completely forgetting what he had been told to do. The spider quickly runs up a wall a short distance from them and dangles itself from a high perch obediently keeping watch.

"Well this should be fun. My ship in orbit is detecting incoming hostiles aimed at both it, and our location," Chris replies just as a wall of heavily armored skeletons and lizard men appear on the horizon with multiple squadrons of wyverns providing air support for the dark army. Switching out the Type H Magic Door book for the Type S, the Lord of Blades casually sends a focused Psionic Shock-wave cutting through the center of the Skeleton formation while mentally commanding the Zerglings to attack the flanks. "How long do you think it will be before Draak shows up personally?" Chris asks Abyss while still not looking away from his studying.

'If you keep ripping through those armies like that hmm, probably about a week... I'll take that half you take this half." Abyss gestures towards the lizard men and half of the wyverns for herself and the skeletons and other half that Chris was already attacking. Aries roars dropping the rat tail and leaping forward to help Abyss. Skitters squeals leaping from his perch and disappears midair. "I'll be back shortly..." Abyss leaps up covering everything on her side of the battlefield in thick cloud of dark dust that sends everything including the wyverns into a deep sleep. She vanishes from sight while the dust swirls obscuring the army from view.

"Hmm, let's trim that down a bit," Chris comments as the wyverns fall asleep. He then channels a fraction of the Swarm's psionic potential to unleash a psionic storm that erases everything on his side of the battlefield including his own Zerglings. As the storm fades, dragons descend from orbit and spit void energy at the town. Tapping his personal genetic library, the Lord of Blades forcefully converts five Drones into Spore Cannons even as he continues to casually read his book and keep track of the orbital battle between his Leviathans and a few squadrons of Void Dragons.

((I actually tried to post this a while ago but the browser derped and wiped it making me lose all motivation to try to post again, until now.)) In the Nightmare Realm: Before the lizardmen and wyverns can work out just how they found themselves in the new location, Abyss points and a small group of monsters appears and charges towards the bewildered army. Aries also joins the battle, no longer small but in his greatest nightmare form and perhaps a little too joyfully rips apart the wyverns in the air. The monstrous hoard swiftly cuts through the forces while Abyss just watches casually leaning on her staff. "Perhaps I should have given you guys more of a challenge and brought the whole of that army here?" Abyss laughs as the opposing army's terror intensifies and boosts the strength of the monsters.

Despite heavy damage in the initial wave of dragon attacks, the five Spore Cannons quickly negate the advantage Draak's army had gained from the Void Dragons. On the ground, the sight of enemy losses being quickly replaced with Giants and Ogres added in causes the Lord of Blades to see red. "DRAAK. YOU WILL NOT TAKE THIS TOWN. SUPPORT YOUR ARMY AND FIGHT ME FACE TO FACE SO I WILL KILL YOU. FOR I. AM. THE SWARM!" Chris roars as he channels the full psionic potential of the swarm into a Void Portal and summons a pair of Void Thrasher hybrids that hit Draak's army so hard with Void Blasts that the distant mountains are leveled in an instant. At the same time, a pair of mansion sized Noxious Torrasque strain Ultralisks spawn in the Nightmare Realm and assist Abyss.
