Race: Zerg hybrid
Description: Elite infested of the Zerg swarm and/or Primal Zerg who resemble their pre infested race with notable insectile and/or reptilian features such as wings, exoskeleton and scales. No two hybrids will look the same just as no two Zerg strains will look the same.
Abilities: Swarm hybrids share a hive mind and have improved coordination as a result. Primal hybrids can consume the life-force of a defeated foe to gain traits that prove useful. (a sharper pair of eyes or a faster/stronger set of limb muscles) Due to certain events a hybrid might have both Zerg ability types.
Race Persona: Swarm hybrids are single minded in making the swarm stronger while fulfilling tasks assigned by an Overmind. (currently Swarm Queen Thyme) Primal hybrids (including Thyme) gravitate towards power and constantly seek to improve as individuals. Due to a mix of appearance and personality, other races often have mixed reactions of fear and curiosity.
Social Customs: Highly dependent on the pre infested race of a given hybrid.
Hierarchy: An Overmind or Pack Leader referred to as 'Queen' or 'Lord' is at the top of the social structure with Brood Mothers next followed by Overlords and then everyone else more or less lumped together at the bottom.
Tech and Science: For the Zerg and their hybrids, tech and science are one and the same. While sometimes borrowing the tech of other races or retaining tech from pre infested life for a specific purpose, for the most part a suitable strain of Zerg (pure or hybrid) is developed to replace any vehicles or buildings the Zerg hybrid needs.
Transportation: Usually stick with the Overlord and Leviathan strains of pure Zerg.
Spiritual Beliefs: No unified beliefs. Individual hybrids may retain the beliefs of their pre infested race.
